Lumen Academy was founded in 2023 by a group of veteran teachers, examiners and assessment specialists — frustrated that anyone could call themselves a tutor or proctor with no shared standard of practice.
We set out to build the certification body we wished existed: rigorous enough for awarding bodies, practical enough for working educators, and accessible enough for someone tutoring their first learner.
Today, Lumen graduates work in schools, universities, tutoring agencies and global test centres — bringing a shared standard of professional practice to the field.
